Defeating the major Bosses
Ashura
Give Mask a Battle or Saber Sword to do over 200 points of
damage per hit against Ashura while the rest of the party is being
attacked.
Venus
She is immune to most magic, except Sleep and skills that
mimic that spell. Give Muskets to all characters that can use
that weapon. They will do approximately 100 points of damage against
her. Venus is also affected by skills like Dissolve and Touch.
It is not easy to stun her, but it can be done.
Magnate
Use the Aegis Magi to block most of his attacks. Pound him
with your party's best weapons. The tornado is his worst attack.
Odin
Use the Hyper Cannon on his cohorts, and then use the Glass
Sword on him. Also use the Aegis Magi to block his magic. Note:
The meat of Slepnir will turn your character into a monster, even
if other meat is eaten.
Minion
He is similar to Magnate, above, only weaker.
WarMach
Use Dad's Heal Rod to fix WarMach's attack. Then, disconnect
him. The Bash is his worst attack.
Apollo
Use a Book of Flare for Dad, and Lasers on him. All your party's
monsters should be Gazers, or EvilEyes, which can penetrate his
Aegis. After he morphs, he will do Masamune, Flare, and then repeat.
Use Dad's Heal Rod to against that.
Defeating Dolphin
In Edo Castle, go to the roof (where you fought Magnate).
There are two statues there, one on each side. Examine either
of them and you will engage in battle with the Dolphin. To defeat
Dolphin, use your strongest weapons and magic and have someone
use either the Aegis Magi or a Dragon Shield to block most of
his attacks. Some attacks to watch for are its Blitz attack, which
lowers an ally's speed, and Whirl, which attacks the entire party
(Aegis does not block it). Dolphin has over 1800 HP, and very
high defense. The reward for beating Dolphin is 0 GP and an occasional
Stat increase.
Easy stat increase
This best location to do this trick is in the Giant
World. Save the game. Turn off the Game Boy, then turn it back
on. Fight the first couple of battles using various attacks and
orders of characters. Do not do more then three battles. If nothing
happens, power off again and try other combinations. Keep trying
until you find a combination that gives you stats up at the end
of battle. Remember exactly what you did. Save the game. Power
off, resume the game, and repeat. You should notice that the battles
are the same (identical monsters, steps to encounter, etc.) and
that you will get the same stats up again. You can repeat this
until some aspect of stat increase modifies the order of battle.
Killing an enemy that does not normally die at that point, agility
making you go in a different order. Some times it is hard to find
the increase. What you do has an impact. For example, using light
sabers for everyone tends to procure an agility increase. Remember
that party order has an impact as well. Agility is always the
trickiest unless the fast person always went first to begin with.
Note: This trick only works with the original Game Boy model,
and has no effect on the Game Boy Pocket and newer systems.
Go through the game until you get to the Nasty Dungeon. Go in
and get the Magi. Then, go to your Items screen and double click
the trash can and choose someone that you want to increase their
Agility by three each time. You can double click on it about thirty
times.
Use the following trick for a STR And AGL increase. Go through
the game until you have 67 Magi (Dragon Race World, after the
race). Go into your items inventory and scroll down to the trashcan.
Select it to increase one Human or Mutant's STR by three points.
You can click on it 72 times, however only click on it about 60
times. If you use all 72 increases, your Magi count will change
to 99 and all your Magi Of Power will disappear. If this happens,
you will not be able to progress in the game. After you use it
60 times, go to the next world. Take the Pegasus Magi and go back
into your items inventory to the trashcan. Now it will increase
one Human or Mutant's AGL by three each time. Once again, it can
be used 72 times. However, if you use it up completely your Magi
count will again increase to 99. However, because no existing
Magi will disappear, you will be able to continue with the game.
Your Magi count will return to normal when Apollo takes them all
from you.
Get Flare Magic for a Mutant
You can learn the magic of Flare from the Dunatis battle
in Apollo's world. It is a very rare occurrence however, and is
more common in males than females.
Get dragon
In the Dragon Race World, fight monsters until you
get the Teleport ability or a Door. Get the fastest dragon (at
stable closest to the Inn, costs 1000 GP) and start the race.
While on the dragon, use Teleport or the Door and you will be
able to go over walls, mountains, and even space in the "pillar
of sky".
Get Seven sword
There is an ultimate sword called Seven. To get it,
you have to run around in the caves after defeating Apollo probably
for a very long time. You will meet a big cactus (one in seventy
five chance of finding him). He is big, strong and has a lot of
HP. He is a challenge to defeat, as he also regains 800 HP per
turn and does massive amounts of damage. When you kill him, he
will drop the Seven sword. The sword has unlimited use (like Xcalibur),
and hits the enemy seven times in one hit. This is very useful
when defeating the Arsenal at the very end of the game.
Haniwa
If you are going after the Seven sword, a Haniwa's
HP is somewhere between 40,000 and 50,000.
Get the meat of a TianLung or Fenrir, then eat other meat until
you become the enemy with the same walk animation as Hofud, Gae
Bolg, etc. When you do, encounter a Haniwa and use its attack
Critical. It can do over 600 damage, and sometimes even result
in a one hit kill. Note: Critical cannot one hit kill Arsenal,
but it can still do a large amount of damage.
Finding the XCalibr
In the Final Dungeon two screens before WarMach is
a round area. Go to the center-left or center-right of the walls
and you will appear in a long circular hallway. Follow it to the
top and collect the XCalibr from the treasure chest. The XCalibr
is the strongest weapon in the game and can penetrate through
any enemy's defense. Since the XCalibr can be used an unlimited
number of times, you can use it every round. As an added effect
the XCalibr randomly increases the STR Stat.
Less enemies to fight
When you get to the world after Edo, go to the town.
You should notice several people blocking the way to the north
of town. Talk to the ones on the left and right two to three times;
not one then the other, but one two or three times then the other.
Then, talk to the middle one. You will then fight a battle which
originally plotted eight enemies against you. However, this should
decrease the amount of enemies you battle by about half.
