Hints
Battles
When fighting, be strategic. For example, in multi-player mode, when one player is charging up an attack, stand at the ready nearby. The player who is charging up is susceptible to attacks; the other players need to protect him or her.

To defeat a major enemy such as a Boss, you can easily win without anything in your command list or using a Phoenix Plume . When you are low on health (for example, one heart), press [Y] to go to the menu and heal yourself with Berry. You can then finish off your fight easier with full health .This can be done as many times as desired.

When in a battle or when fighting a Boss, instead of using any of your food items you can use (if available) Cure. Run to where no monsters will attack you then hold [A]. When the circle appears, move it onto yourself. It will heal you completely.

Easy money
Start a game with four characters. Choose one to be your permanent character and the other three to be temporary. After creating the characters, go to Tipa. Have the temporary characters drop their money (200 Gil each) and their inventory items. Enter Tipa with your permanent character and take the money and items. Repeat this as many times as desired.

This trick require at least two players. First, create your two characters. Then, go back and create more characters. Have one of the players play as one of the character that you want to progress the story with, and the other player play as a character that you just created. Go to "Money" via the menu and drop all of the money off the unwanted character. Then, have the first player pick up the dropped money. This should give you 200 gil per character. Delete the unwanted character and create new ones for another 200 gil.

Enter Conall Curach in the fourth year and go through the first area. There are five treasure chests in the first area. Once you reach the second area, there are nine treasure chests that are accessible at all times. The area where you can get fast and easy money is at one of the last chests in that area. Go down a long path to get there. Once there, you will find three Abaddon. They have 32 HP, STR 6, DEF 5, and MAG 6. Use Gravity on them so that they are on the ground and hit away. They will drop a Jagged Scythe, which can be sold for 900 gil each. You can usually leave Conall Curach with at least 3,000 gil by doing this, You can also use a Jagged Scythe to make a Mighty Weapon.

If you choose to become a Merchant Selkie, go to your sister in Tipa and she will give you unlimited Striped Apples. You can then sell each of them to get easy money early in the game.

Bringing multiple characters back to life
When you cast Life, it can heal more than one person. The same thing happens with the Phoenix Plume. Also, if you are playing in multi-player mode and all members are dead except for one, and that one dies with a Phoenix Plume in his command list, he will be brought back to life. This is the time when all the dead people get around the magic light that brings the player back to life. Then, everyone will be brought back to life. Note: Not everyone except for one person needs to be dead for this to be used, but it would be a waste if done on one player.

Painting Mog for fun and profit
You can paint your single-player Moogle each time you visit a Nest. Mog will cast spells, and its color determines the spell it is likely to cast: Fire (Red), Blizzard (Blue) or Thunder (Green). The color of your Moogle also decides your Game Boy Advance Radar: Terrain (None), Monster (Red), Treasure (Blue) or Scouter (Green). The latter reveals monster stats.

Fuse spells with Moogle
You can fuse any spell with Moogle. Have Moogle drop the Chalice and cast any spell. Line up Moogle's spell circle with yours; it does not have to be perfectly lined up. Wait until a dark red circle appears under Moogle and then cast. You will then have fused a spell. Sometimes if Moogle does not cast a spell it is because you need to defeat some enemies first.

Combining magical effects to make spells more powerful or to make new spells
Combine the Magicite stones for the basic spells to cast amped-up or new effects. To cast one of the basic spells, you will need to assign its Magicite to a command list slot. If you want to crank up a spell's power, place another of the same Magicite beside the first. To create new spells like Haste, experiment by varying stones and their order in the command list.

Additional shops
Additional shops will appear in Tipa after characters of various classes are present on your memory card. The more characters and varying classes, the more shops and types of them will appear.

Jegon River Boat
If the Jegon River runs dry, go to Veo Lu Sluice and cast Life on the dead yellow flowers in the area. This will allow you to use the Jegon River Boat and cross to Fields of Fum.

Mines Of Cathuriges: Pi
On the second "section" on the Mines Of Cathuriges, on the rafters, there will be three boards arranged in a fashion that resembles the mathematical symbol for pi.

Weapons for the Clavats
To get an Excaliber weapon, go to River Belle Path. Do a lot of magic spells to enemies to gain more points and use charge focus attacks. Pick up items, artifacts, and money to gain as many points as you can. After getting your points, defeat the Boss. After defeating the Boss, you will need at least 116 points to get the scroll called Legendary Weapon. The attack power is 33 and you will need Alloy, Orichalcum, and Ancient Potion.

Hard to find materials for weapons
After about Year 5 or 6, if you stay around Alfitaria and Shella you will often run into the Shella caravan (made up of all Yukes). They will ask to see one of the materials you have in your inventory. Sometimes it is something you rarely need late in the game, such as iron. Answer yes and they will make an offer to trade for it. Frequently it will be an item, such as a Hard Shell or Holy Water, that you can use to forge more weapons or armor.

The Unknown Element
Before you can get the unknown Element, you must first be able to go to the Lynari Desert. Go there, and once you enter, go all the way up to the top of the level. On the east side you will see a giant cactus. Cast Thunder on the cactus. For the second part of the quest, you must cast Gravity on an abandoned tent in the northeast portion of the desert. Then, walk to the far eastern edge of the desert and look for a mushroom shaped rock. Cast Fire on it. The rock is difficult to reach; keep trying if you do not get it the first time. Then, move back across the desert until you are just south of the large cactus. Look for three rocks standing close to each other. Hit them with Blizzard, starting from the smallest to the largest rock. Finally, walk along the southern edge of the map (do not take the path to the Moogle nest). Look for a pink flower. Cast Holy on the flower. It will then change into a hot spot. Put your Chalice on the hot spot. It will then change your element to the Unknown Element. The Unknown Element lets you go through any Miasma stream desired.

You will need to choose one of the eight family trades to occupy your parents and siblings while you are on the road. When you return home, you can get trade-specific items from your family. Consider starting eight characters to cram your town with every item-gaining opportunity possible. When you create your character, you will select one of eight family trades. The one you choose can have a big impact on your inventory over time. Your family will ask you to send gifts in your letters from afar. If you send back items that pertain to the family trade, you will get a big payoff in due time. You will not find many towns or tradespeople on your journey. Visit your family (and other families in your town) for rare opportunities to trade.

Stat-Boosting bonus
The Boss will drop four great stat-boosting artifacts, which tend to be more powerful if you satisfy your bonus condition well. Find out what the condition is by looking at the bottom of your Game Boy Advance radar.

Defeating Behemoths
If you have three Blizzard Magicites, the easiest way to kill the Behemoths is to attack the thing, then run to the bridge/planks. It cannot walk on them. Hust cast Blizagga until it is defeated.

Defeating Bosses
When fighting a Boss, make sure you have Plume Of Phoenix Down in all slots and no spells except for one Cure. Keep attacking the Boss until you run low on life, then run to the opposite side of the screen where the Boss cannot get you and cure yourself. Return to the Boss and start to attack him again. Repeat this until the Boss is defeated.

If you get stuck trying to defeat a Boss that keeps using spells on you, change your chalice's element to whatever that Boss is casting. This is especially useful with the crab on the sixth year.

Use the following trick to defeat the final Boss in single player mode. The final boss is Meteor Parasite, Raem and his two forms. All you have to do for the Meteor Parasite is stand back a short distance away from the parasite and in the middle. The parasite has three forms. All are easy. Make sure you have at least ten Phoenix Downs, one Stone Of Cure, and fifteen of your character's favorite food. Make sure you still have all of your food and at least five of your Phoenix Downs by the time you finish him off. Raem will appear after you answer about five questions of what happened during your adventure. You must defeat the two shadow creatures before you attack Raem. Even though they will return, it is easier to attack without any distractions. Once he "fades away", he returns and you will fight him on a different stage. Just watch your health and attack with your character's strongest field (attack or magic).

Defeating Mount Vellenge Boss
After you get the secret element and go through the Miasma stream (with the Carbuncle running away from you), you will be in a place called the Abyss. On the left is Mag Mell and going up is Mount Vellenge. Go there. Once you get through the level, you will fight a Boss. It is a tentacle monster. He has three stages. For the first stage, you need a weapon that shoots a Psy-Blast. Go in between the poison shooting monster and the tentacle monster. If you are in the correct location, the poison monster will shoot over your head and the tentacle will not see you. Psy-Blast it until it back the shell. Do not move. Wait for it to come back and repeat the first part. Do this until the game starts and intermission sequence. After it is over, you will be at the second stage. Here, you must always be moving. Attack the monster until he starts his magic attack. Move to the left and go around the hill. Keep going until you get to the second hill. Without stopping, go onto it and repeat the steps. You will have to do this many times. The third stage is basically attacking, defending, and healing yourself, preferably with food.

Multi-player: Treasures and artifacts
You can walk off with only one artifact no matter what, however in a single player game you will have your pick of the mix. In a multi-player party, the hero with the most bonus points gets first choice. However, the artifacts tend to be superior.

Picking up items
Use the following trick to make the game go by smoother. Whenever you go into a level, pick up everything. That way when you complete the level, you can go directly to the nearest town and make a lot of gil. This will be very helpful later in the game when many of the materials cost a lot of money.

Monster difficulty
Depending on the number of players and the Myrrh cycle, a creature's HP will be boosted by a multiplier, as follows:

1 player2 players3 players4 players
Cycle 1x1.25x1.50x1.75
Cycle 2x1.50x1.875x2.25x2.625
Cycle 3x2.50x3.125x3.75x4.375

Final Fantasy 2 reference
In Marrs Pass the person named Cecil is the main character from Final Fantasy 2.

Glitch: Spells do not stop
When a Firaga or Slow spell is being cast, pause game play. For Firaga, the bolts of fire spinning around the center will continue to cycle through the frames. For the Slow spell, the Roman numerals will continue to cycle.

Glitch: Solo guest
This trick requires two memory cards and a Game Boy Advance. Bring in a guest character and use him in slot 1 and file character anywhere else. Go to a town or dungeon, get out, save, reset, then go to single player mode. Press [B] after the file is loaded. Go to a town and you will be using the guest in single player mode.
