Easy kills
In the first or second mission, find a group of weak
soldiers (the small ones in gray) and use your magic attack once
([Triangle] is default). Then, hit them with your sword or
ax. To see if it worked, press [L3] to see their health.
For an easy dash attack kill, walk fast until you run (with dashed
sign when you already run), then press [Attack] at an enemy
group. If you have powerful weapon on the correct location, you
can kill all the enemies with one blow. This works on all enemies.
For an easy earthquake blow kill, walk fast until you run (with
white dashed sign when you already run), then press [Jump]
then [Attack] at an enemy group. If you have a powerful weapon
on the correct location, you can kill all the enemies with one
blow. This works on all enemies.
Attack enemies until you get the last flashing (on the weapon)
combo attack. Press [Triangle] to get a bigger attack on
the enemies.
Kill the group Leader first before you kill other enemies in the
group. The leader is marked with a yellow dot. After that, the
ability of the enemies will decrease and they will be easier to
kill.
Focus on one enemy when attacking using the dragon in ground missions.
After attacking one or number of group enemies, do a passing move
off them slightly, then press [L1] + [R1] to do an 180
degree turn. Then, attack them again. Do this until they are killed.
It is easier to focusing on them if you move the [Left Analog-stick Up].
Defeating black dragons
You cannot always hit the black dragons with tracking
shots. If you are a clever player, you can figure out its flight
pattern and can easily hit it with dummy shots.
Attacking red armored opponents
Do not attack people with red armor. Your magic will
still do the damage, but green magic missiles will shoot back
at you. Also your dragon's fireballs and specials will also result
in the green magic missiles being shot back. To successfully dodge
them, press [L1] or [R1] to stride to the left and right
while on your dragon or on foot.
Chapter 11: Human hurdles
In Chapter 11, you will deal with enemies that have
big shields in narrow halls. When they charge at you, you can
just over top of them instead of blocking, taking the hit, or
using magic to stop them. If you are lucky, once you jump over
one, the one behind him will begin to charge. It is like doing
hurdles with humans.
Easy health
To get easy health, simply kill one of the large groups
of enemies of about six to ten soldiers, in the X, square or octagon
formation. A small health should appear when you have finished
them.
Easy experience
Use a weapon that does little damage and bash into
a large group of enemies with a lot of other enemies near. Then,
hit them with the weapon or magic to make a lot of hit combos.
The larger the hits combo you make, the more experience points
you will get.
If you are finding it difficult to level up some of the weapons
that are not very strong (for example, Hunter's Joy), try saving
your game and resetting the PlayStation2. When you reload your
game, start from Chapter 1 again and play the very first mission.
If you are skilled, then it should be no problem to get over 1,000
kills on this level, which will easily get your weapon up to level
4 (and get you a boost in character level as well).
Controlling weapons or magic
When you hit enemies, use the Left Analog-stick
to make a quick turn on every hit to enemies that want to attack
you from the back.
Stronger weapon
Do the expedition event and kill all the enemies with
your weapon.
Larger magic attack
Whenever you use Leonard (the blind man with the rod)
or the first girl you get who made the pact with fire and water
and lost her womb, you can cast magic using [Triangle] (default).
However, if you hold [Triangle] you will unleash an attack
five times the size. It pretty much effects the entire screen
of enemies, and since you have unlimited magic as an ally, it
is very useful.
Weapons from treasure boxes
In every ground level when you kill everyone, except
the targets, the game will state that a treasure box has appeared.
Press [R3] and your map will show you where, in a blue shaped
box. Each treasure box on ground levels like this gives you a
weapon.
Elf Village: Victors Spoils (spear)
First castle level environs: Hunters Blade
Ice third level: Poison Glaive
Random items from chained hits
If you score a certain number of chained hits, random
items will appear. For example, a small green health orb (20 hits),
orange blast orb (randomly), black strength-up orb (100 hits).
Note: After picking up an orange orb, you are allowed time between
hits is extended for a short amount of time.
Expedition levels
In some expedition levels, you may encounter a man
that comes out of the ground. He is shaped like a normal enemy
unit, but is black and surrounded by colored flames. The flames
change color. When the flames are red, he is vulnerable to only
magic attacks ([Triangle]). When the flames are blue, he
is only vulnerable to physical attacks. A timer is above his head
shows how much time is remaining for you to kill him. It starts
at 60 seconds. If you kill him in time you will be rewarded with
at least 20 kills, for only one opponent.
Orbs
The orbs do not appear at random. The color of the
orb (orange or green) that appears depends on whether your character
was hit recently, and the type of the last orb that was picked
up. If you character was hit before a chain was completed, the
next orb color will be green. This is still in effect even if
you were hit awhile back. If you are able to complete the required
chain amounts (17, 36, etc.) without getting struck by an enemy,
then you will receive orange orbs every time. This will reset
every mission.
Dragon upgrades
Dragon upgrades will only commence during a certain
part of the story and are not based on experience gained.
Glitch: Wrong weapon grip
If you hold any weapon where Caim grasps it along the
center, such as the Philosopher's Staff, and switch to a sword
like the Takamasa, Caim will still be holding it the same way
as the previous weapon. He will be holding the sharp part of the
blade in his hand. Note: If you move at all after changing weapons,
Caim will switch the way he is holding it to the correct grip.
