Bigger manual aim
Press [L2] + [X] when the pitcher has selected a pitch.
Get runners on base easily when batting
If there is an inside pitch out of the strike zone press [R2] + [Left] or [Right] to position the batter inward and get hit by the pitch.
Easy pitches
This trick only works under the trainee and rookie difficulty settings. To get straight balls down the middle, pretend to bunt by holding [Circle] until the pitcher is about to throw the ball. He should throw it straight down the middle all the time.
Easy strikeouts
Aim the fastball to the high inside corner of any batter. If you aim correctly, the batter will swing and miss, or be caught looking, most of the time. If your pitcher knows the sinker, aim it just outside the strike zone. About 70% of the time it will go back in the strike zone. Do the same with curveballs and sliders.
Easy hits
When you are up to bat, press [Down] when the pitch is coming. About 85% of the time you will get a hit, and sometimes a double.
Perfect game
Have a created pitcher and choose the knuckle ball as your best pitch. Max out all your points on it. In a game, throw the ball very low to the ground and hold it any way that you want it to go. This will get you at least twenty to twenty two strikeouts per game. Do not throw the ball too high.
Recommended team
Create a team with the following players.
When you have a runner on base, to steal but get caught. The batter that was at the plate will be credited with a hit and not an at bat, hence a free hit.
Glitch: Homerun at Metrodome
When playing at the Metrodome, you only need to hit the ball one third of the way over the right field fence to get a homerun.
Press [L2] + [X] when the pitcher has selected a pitch.
