Primary Collection of Cheats
Classic characters
Press [Select] to choose Rayden, Jax, Kung Lao, or Kano for the classic (Mortal Kombat 1 and 2) versions of those fighters.
Stage select
Highlight Sonya and press [Up] + [Start] in one player or Vs mode. The screen will shake and a boom will be heard to confirm correct code entry.
Unlimited kredits
Press entering [Down]x2, [Up]x2, [Right]x2, [Left]x2 at the story screen. A sound will confirm correct code entry. The kredit display will change to "Freeplay".
Fight as Chameleon

Hints
Fatality award
After you win an 8-player game the game give you an award. Go to the last one and it should be a lot of fatalities.
Fireball Sucker Punch
Use this trick when playing as one of the Bosses that use a fireball and an uppercut (all but Motaro). This is a deadly tactic to use because the recovery time is so quick. Fire a fireball. This should lure your opponent into jumping. Then, just uppercut him.
Defeating Raiden
Start a one player game and select Sub-Zero (either version). Choose your destiny and fight your way to Raiden (if he is in the column you selected). Immediately after Shao Kahn says "Fight", freeze Raiden, then walk up and uppercut him. Just as he begins to teleport himself up, freeze him again. If timed correctly, Raiden should look like a stationery white blob. Then, uppercut him again. Repeat the process until he dies. Note: There are times when Raiden may dodge or block the freeze move. If this happens, wait for another chance to freeze him again.
Defeating Shao Kahn
Select Kintoro, then keep pressing [Down]x2, [Up]. You will go up in the air and slam on top of Shao Kahn. Alternately, select Motaro. Then, keep pressing [Back] [Circle]. Alternately, select Scorpion and keep pressing [Back]x2, [Square].
Select Kintaro, then choose any level. Battle your way with Kintaro, When you get to Shao Kahn, try to defeat him with Kintaro. You should lose. Then, select Liu Kang and in the battle, keep using Low Fireball ([Forward], [Forward], [Circle]). Because Kahn uses fireball, every time he shoots you with a fireball it will go over your head.
Baraka: Moves
Keep doing the Acid Net and uppercutting him until you win.
Ermac: Moves
When playing as Noob Saibot in any of the ways possible (himself, Shang Tsung morphed into him, or Chameleon morphed into him), you can keep throwing your Orb Spinner and your opponent will not be able to do a single thing to you. You can now hammer your opponent to your heart's content. This is extremely effective against Shao Kahn. Do not throw it after one has already taken effect, or you will get an effect like the Double Ice Backfire that Sub-Zero occasionally gets.
The following trick works when you are playing as Noob Saibot, but not fighting a Boss. First, connect with a teleport throw by pressing [Down], [Up]. While the person is in the air, hit them with a Spirit Orb by pressing [Down], "Down/Forward", [Forward]. Now run up and do a triple kick by pressing "LK", "LK", "LK". Finally, do a teleport throw before the Spirit Orb wears off. Continue by doing a Spirit Orb, Triple Kick, Teleport Throw, etc.
This combo system works very well against the CPU. Select Noob Saibot in a single player game. First, throw a Shadow at the opponent ([Forward], [Forward], [HP]). Then, when the opponent is thrown above your head, time it so when you throw the Disabler ([Down], [Forward], "LP") it connects with the opponent just before he or she hits the ground. Next, run over to the disabled opponent and hit him or her with the Uppercut combo ([HP], [HP], "LP", "HK"). While he or she is in midair from the combo, Roundhouse them. Finally, as they hit the ground, throw another Shadow at the opponent and repeat. If no mistakes are made during the fight, you can get a flawless victory. Note: This combo does not work against Motaro, as his chest can automatically reflect projectiles; and attacks such as Scorpion's Spear and Noob Saibot's Shadow will pass through him.
Rain: Moves
Keep doing his Control Ball ("QCT", [HP]), and before you opponent can recover, use his Lightning attack ([Back], [Back], [HP]). Then, before your opponent recovers from the Lightning, do the Control Ball again. Repeat this processes to easily defeat any character.
Rayden (Mortal Kombat 1) moves
Go to options screen then select "Konfigure". Change Shang Tsung's morphs to "Limited-no load". Next, choose Shang Tsung and another box will appear with something similar to "Morph 1". You can choose a few characters. However, if you choose one ninja or cyber-ninja, you will be able to morph into any ninja or cyber ninja without waiting for the loading time.

Shao Kahn: Moves
When you are playing on one of the Kung Fu Kombat arenas, you will see Shao Khan sitting in a chair watching the fight. If either of the players is Shao Khan, he will not be in the chair.
Sheeva: Moves
Enable the "One button fatalities" code and disable blood. Enter a fight with someone in a background. Win two rounds, and hold [Down] + "High Punch" (uppercut). Note: You must hold down uppercut at sweep range. Your character will walk over to the opponent, elbow him first, then uppercut him. This works most of the time.
Pit fataility
Choose any character (except the Bosses). Enable the "Stage select" code then choose the Pit. Defeat your opponent in two rounds. Once the "Finish Him/Her" message appears, press [Up] and try to jump over your opponent. If done correctly, you should be facing the back of your opponent. Next, do an uppercut ([Down], [Square]). Your opponent will fall down and land on the Pit's spikes. Note: Use this technique only in the Pit; it will not work in other stages with backgrounds.
Glitch: Uppercut your opponent in the Pit while frozen
Select the Pit stage as classic Sub-Zero. When it gets to danger, use the freeze ([Down], [Forward], "Low Punch"), then uppercut into the pit. If timed correctly, your opponent will be still frozen in the ice in the pit.
Glitch: Smoke's Teleport Punch Decapitation fatality
Use Smoke (Human) and enable the "One Button Fatality" code. Try to get your opponent to the corner, then press [Circle]. Smoke will miss. His Teleport Punch will not decapitate the opponent, but will still count as a fatality.
Glitch: Cyber Ninja's voice change
Use any of the Three Cyber Ninjas (Cyrax, Sektor, or Smoke) in two player versus mode, Hit Your opponent with an uppercut and you will hear his strange new voice. This can also be done when facing one of the Cyber Ninjas in very hard champion mode.
Glitch: Cyrax fatality
At the "Finish Him" screen, do the Helicopter fatality. Oil will come out of the opponent, as opposed to red or green blood.
Glitch: Human Smoke Teleport fatality
When playing as Human Smoke, win two rounds and make sure your opponent is near the edge of the level. When it says "Finish him", do the teleporting smash fatality. When you do the fatality, you will miss but it will still count as a fatality.
Glitch: Sektor changes colors
Use any fighter (Sub-Zero recommended) and enable the "Stage select" and "One button fatality" code. Select The Pit stage. Finish Sektor off with a pit fatality ([Down], [Up], [Square]). Once Sektor falls in The Pit, he will change color. This will also happen if you use Sub-Zero's Icicle and Uppercut fatality.
Glitch: Shang Tsung automatically transforms
Select two on two mode and have players one and player two both choose Kitana. At the same time, have player one select Shang Tsung and player two select Cyrax. After that, Shang Tsung will appear glitched. At the fighting screen, Shang Tsung will be another character automatically (most likely Sub- Zero). Note: You must go to "Configure" in the options menu and set "Shang Tsung's Morph" to "No Morphs".
Glitch: Sub Zero fatality
Play as Sub Zero (Masked). Enable the one button fatality option and try to get your opponent in the corner. Once the "Finish Him/Her" message appears, press [Circle]. Sub Zero will uppercut your opponent, and if done correctly, the opponent will not land on the glacier but it will still count as a fatality.
Glitch: Sub Zero's scar
Have both players get Sub-Zero with his mask off in a two player battle. At the versus screenm Sub0Zero will have his scar both on the left and on the right.
Glitch: One-button false fatalities and animalities
Enable the one button fatalities option and attempt to use a finishing move that does not exist (such as Subzero's animality or Rayden's second normal fatality). One of two things will occur: For animalities, the screen goes into fatality mode, but the character does not do anything. Then, the word "animality" still appears. This may also work for friendships. The other outcome is that the move does not exist and will not work, such as Mortal Kombat 1 Rayden's second fatality. Also notice that brutalities do not always work with one button mode, yet you can start and complete a full brutality in that mode anyway.
Glitch: Brutalities
Use anyone except Shao Kahn, Kintaro, Motaro, or Goro. Use your brutality (one button if desired). When the opponent blows up, you will see over three skulls and many other body parts multiplied.
Glitch: No words when Dan Forden appears
If you freeze the opponent, Dan Forden will appear, but not say anything at all, instead of "Frosty" as when this happens in all other versions of the game.
Glitch: Easy Classic Kano kill
Choose Kintaro as your character. Go through each opponent until you get to classic Kano. When the fight starts, hold "Block" ([R1]) the entire time until he gets close to you. When he is close enough, he will do his Flying Cannonball move. Make sure that you are still holding "Block". Because you blocked the Flying Cannonball move, he should still be in that position. Move away from him and he will float and spin in mid-air. You cannot stop him from floating and spinning unless you hit him. Note: Enable on the "Health Recovery" cheat before doing this, as he will do his combos while you block. You can blast him away while he is in this state.
Glitch: Human sound
Start a fight between Kintaro and any of the three robots (Cyrax, Sektor, or Smoke). When you begin the match, do Kintaro's Teleport Stomp ([Down], Up). If you miss, try it again until you land on one of them. Once you land on them, listen to them carefully. Instead of making a robot grunt, they will do a human grunt, just like unmasked Sub-Zero.

When playing as Noob Saibot in any of the ways possible (himself, Shang Tsung morphed into him, or Chameleon morphed into him), you can keep throwing your Orb Spinner and your opponent will not be able to do a single thing to you. You can now hammer your opponent to your heart's content. This is extremely effective against Shao Kahn. Do not throw it after one has already taken effect, or you will get an effect like the Double Ice Backfire that Sub-Zero occasionally gets.
The following trick works when you are playing as Noob Saibot, but not fighting a Boss. First, connect with a teleport throw by pressing [Down], [Up]. While the person is in the air, hit them with a Spirit Orb by pressing [Down], "Down/Forward", [Forward]. Now run up and do a triple kick by pressing "LK", "LK", "LK". Finally, do a teleport throw before the Spirit Orb wears off. Continue by doing a Spirit Orb, Triple Kick, Teleport Throw, etc.
This combo system works very well against the CPU. Select Noob Saibot in a single player game. First, throw a Shadow at the opponent ([Forward], [Forward], [HP]). Then, when the opponent is thrown above your head, time it so when you throw the Disabler ([Down], [Forward], "LP") it connects with the opponent just before he or she hits the ground. Next, run over to the disabled opponent and hit him or her with the Uppercut combo ([HP], [HP], "LP", "HK"). While he or she is in midair from the combo, Roundhouse them. Finally, as they hit the ground, throw another Shadow at the opponent and repeat. If no mistakes are made during the fight, you can get a flawless victory. Note: This combo does not work against Motaro, as his chest can automatically reflect projectiles; and attacks such as Scorpion's Spear and Noob Saibot's Shadow will pass through him.

Enable the "One button fatalities" code and disable blood. Enter a fight with someone in a background. Win two rounds, and hold [Down] + "High Punch" (uppercut). Note: You must hold down uppercut at sweep range. Your character will walk over to the opponent, elbow him first, then uppercut him. This works most of the time.
Pit fataility
Choose any character (except the Bosses). Enable the "Stage select" code then choose the Pit. Defeat your opponent in two rounds. Once the "Finish Him/Her" message appears, press [Up] and try to jump over your opponent. If done correctly, you should be facing the back of your opponent. Next, do an uppercut ([Down], [Square]). Your opponent will fall down and land on the Pit's spikes. Note: Use this technique only in the Pit; it will not work in other stages with backgrounds.
Glitch: Uppercut your opponent in the Pit while frozen
Select the Pit stage as classic Sub-Zero. When it gets to danger, use the freeze ([Down], [Forward], "Low Punch"), then uppercut into the pit. If timed correctly, your opponent will be still frozen in the ice in the pit.
Glitch: Smoke's Teleport Punch Decapitation fatality
Use Smoke (Human) and enable the "One Button Fatality" code. Try to get your opponent to the corner, then press [Circle]. Smoke will miss. His Teleport Punch will not decapitate the opponent, but will still count as a fatality.
Glitch: Cyber Ninja's voice change
Use any of the Three Cyber Ninjas (Cyrax, Sektor, or Smoke) in two player versus mode, Hit Your opponent with an uppercut and you will hear his strange new voice. This can also be done when facing one of the Cyber Ninjas in very hard champion mode.
Glitch: Cyrax fatality
At the "Finish Him" screen, do the Helicopter fatality. Oil will come out of the opponent, as opposed to red or green blood.
Glitch: Human Smoke Teleport fatality
When playing as Human Smoke, win two rounds and make sure your opponent is near the edge of the level. When it says "Finish him", do the teleporting smash fatality. When you do the fatality, you will miss but it will still count as a fatality.
Glitch: Sektor changes colors
Use any fighter (Sub-Zero recommended) and enable the "Stage select" and "One button fatality" code. Select The Pit stage. Finish Sektor off with a pit fatality ([Down], [Up], [Square]). Once Sektor falls in The Pit, he will change color. This will also happen if you use Sub-Zero's Icicle and Uppercut fatality.
Glitch: Shang Tsung automatically transforms
Select two on two mode and have players one and player two both choose Kitana. At the same time, have player one select Shang Tsung and player two select Cyrax. After that, Shang Tsung will appear glitched. At the fighting screen, Shang Tsung will be another character automatically (most likely Sub- Zero). Note: You must go to "Configure" in the options menu and set "Shang Tsung's Morph" to "No Morphs".
Glitch: Sub Zero fatality
Play as Sub Zero (Masked). Enable the one button fatality option and try to get your opponent in the corner. Once the "Finish Him/Her" message appears, press [Circle]. Sub Zero will uppercut your opponent, and if done correctly, the opponent will not land on the glacier but it will still count as a fatality.
Glitch: Sub Zero's scar
Have both players get Sub-Zero with his mask off in a two player battle. At the versus screenm Sub0Zero will have his scar both on the left and on the right.
Glitch: One-button false fatalities and animalities
Enable the one button fatalities option and attempt to use a finishing move that does not exist (such as Subzero's animality or Rayden's second normal fatality). One of two things will occur: For animalities, the screen goes into fatality mode, but the character does not do anything. Then, the word "animality" still appears. This may also work for friendships. The other outcome is that the move does not exist and will not work, such as Mortal Kombat 1 Rayden's second fatality. Also notice that brutalities do not always work with one button mode, yet you can start and complete a full brutality in that mode anyway.
Glitch: Brutalities
Use anyone except Shao Kahn, Kintaro, Motaro, or Goro. Use your brutality (one button if desired). When the opponent blows up, you will see over three skulls and many other body parts multiplied.
Glitch: No words when Dan Forden appears
If you freeze the opponent, Dan Forden will appear, but not say anything at all, instead of "Frosty" as when this happens in all other versions of the game.
Glitch: Easy Classic Kano kill
Choose Kintaro as your character. Go through each opponent until you get to classic Kano. When the fight starts, hold "Block" ([R1]) the entire time until he gets close to you. When he is close enough, he will do his Flying Cannonball move. Make sure that you are still holding "Block". Because you blocked the Flying Cannonball move, he should still be in that position. Move away from him and he will float and spin in mid-air. You cannot stop him from floating and spinning unless you hit him. Note: Enable on the "Health Recovery" cheat before doing this, as he will do his combos while you block. You can blast him away while he is in this state.
Glitch: Human sound
Start a fight between Kintaro and any of the three robots (Cyrax, Sektor, or Smoke). When you begin the match, do Kintaro's Teleport Stomp ([Down], Up). If you miss, try it again until you land on one of them. Once you land on them, listen to them carefully. Instead of making a robot grunt, they will do a human grunt, just like unmasked Sub-Zero.
