Primary Collection of Cheats
Level skip (NTSC version)
Have Lara perform the following actions during game play. (Note: To sidestep, hold [R2] and press the D-Pad in the indicated direction. To walk, hold [R1] and press the D-Pad in the indicated direction. Both [R1] and [R2] should be released when spinning or jumping.) Sidestep left, sidestep right, sidestep left, walk one step back, and walk one step forward. Release [R1], then spin at least three times in a complete circle in any direction. Finally, jump forwards and turn around in mid-air by pressing [Up] + [Square], [Circle] (assuming the default controller configuration). Lara will freeze in mid-air to confirm correct code entry.

Hints
Flip in the air
Instead of jumping forward or backward and pressing "Roll" immediately, press the opposite direction. For example, if you jump forward, immediately press [Down] and Lara will do a flip in the air. Do the opposite if you jump backwards.
Dive into water
Jump forwards, but hold [R1] + [Square]. Note: If done onto hard ground or off high ledges, Lara will break her neck and die.
Diving flip
After you do a dive ([Forward] + [Square] + [R1]) off a tall cliff or something similar, press [Circle] while in the air and Lara will flip.
Bartoli's Hideout shortcut
While going through this level, at one point you will have to jump through a window and kill a man on a balcony. Once you are at this point, kill the man and take the ammunition he has. Then, turn around back towards the window you came through. Walk to the corner of the balcony. Make sure you are in the corner, then start pressing [Forward] + [Jump]. If done correctly, you will jump over the fence to the roof of the building, then slide into the water. This shortcut will save a lot of time and health, but you will miss the Golden Dragon.
Temple Of Xian shortcut
When you get to the bottom of all the waterfalls in the Temple Of Xian, you will end up in a pool with two nasty fish. Kill them if desired. You will see a green colored gate. Swim up to a corner of the gate. Swim along the front of it in a diagonal direction. When you get to the other corner, turn so that Lara has her back to the gate. Hold [Down] so that she is swimming backwards into it. Press [Jump] and Lara should fall through the gate. This works to get back through as well.
Help from monks
In the level with the monastery, you will find a group of monks. Do not kill them. They will kill the enemies with the guns through the entire game.
Hidden audio
Place the game disc in an audio CD player and play track two and above to hear various music and commentary from the game. Track 23 is particularly funny.
Exiting Venice
Enter the hedge maze and follow these turns: left, the second right, left, right, right, left, right. Jump into the hole in the ground that appears and follow the passageway until it ends. Take the the box of flares, then push the button between the statues. Leave the maze and enter the secret door next to the grandfather clock. Move fast, as there is a time limit of one minute and twelve seconds. Use your flares in the cellar to view Lara's treasures.
Defeating Bartoli
When you reach the end of level 4 (Opera House), Bartoli appears from your left. Take out your shotgun, jump over his head, roll, fire, and repeat. If done enough times, he will die and you will receive little or no damage. Note: Try not to go past the first path to your right when you fall into the room to avoid being attacked by a Doberman.
Defeating the dragon
When the dragon is forming, go to the right-hand side of the room. There should be three pools of water at this location. Enter the middle pool and switch to the harpoons. Surface and start shooting the dragon from above the water. That should drive him behind a pillar in a position where he is stuck and can not breath fire. Use the weapon of your choice and fire until he drops. Then, pull the dagger and evacuate the building.
Leaving the mansion
Get to the point on the training course before Lara goes down the death slide. Walk to one of the corners at the edge and face forward. Turn about forty-five degrees and look straight down. While still holding the look button, jump straight up in the air. After the third jump Lara should be on top of the left or right pillar. From here, jump onto the wall, then run around it. Then Lara can jump to the roof of the swimming pool, maze, and even outside the patch of ground outside the gate. Note: If Lara goes outside the gate, she can not return.
Get rid of the butler
Use the following steps to get rid of the butler that always follows Lara. Enter the mansion. Go into the kitchen and open the freezer. Wait until the butler reaches you, and go in the freezer. When he enters the freezer, jump over him and quickly close the freezer door. The mansion may now be explored without the butler.
You can get rid of the butler by locking him in the basement. First, go through the maze and push the button that you find when you get to the middle. Then, get out of the maze and get to the basement under the one minute and twelve second time limit. Find and push the button on wall inside the basement. Wait until the butler enters the basement. Lead him far in, go back and push the button, and quickly side-jump out. If done correctly, the butler will be trapped.
Survive falls
If you fall from a reasonably high ledge, hold "Roll" and you will roll immediately when you hit the ground.
Gymnastic move while vaulting over ledges
Walk up to the ledge, then hold [Forward] and press [X] to start climbing up. Just after Laura starts climbing up, hold walk ([R1]). If done correctly, she should pull up, flip up to a hand-stand, then flip over onto her feet. Note: This does not make you climb any better.
Glitch: Elevator jump
Walk up to any ledge that has a column next to it. The ledge would be shaped like an "L". Turn at an angle so that you are almost facing the column. Keep in mind that you should always stay at the edge of the ledge. Jump once and as you reach the ground, let Lara finish her "normal position" foot movement. Then, hold [Jump] to jump one more time. Keep the button pressed to will suddenly fly up to the very top of the column. You can do this on the training course of her house on the top of the last obstacle or level, and then explore.
Glitch: Jump through door
Find the shack at the beginning of the Venice level. In that shack is a man and his dog. Kill them then press the door button, which opens the door on the way up the ladder in the shack. Go to the ladder, press [Jump] then hold "Action". Lara will get ready to climb. Press [Jump] again to get to the next floor of the shack. Normally you would have to press the next door button, but in this position you can get through it by jumping forward. You will automatically be on the roof of the shack.
Instead of jumping forward or backward and pressing "Roll" immediately, press the opposite direction. For example, if you jump forward, immediately press [Down] and Lara will do a flip in the air. Do the opposite if you jump backwards.

Exiting Venice
Press [X] after pulling the switch (right before the clock starts) to give Lara's boat extra power. This will allow it to travel up the long ramp that leads to some windows. Lara will crash through the windows and land in the canal just before the exit with plenty of time to spare.
Alternatively, swim under the mines and you will automatically start the next level with the boat.
Alternatively, pull the switch, then swim under the door and climb back into the boat. The, go to the exit door without beating the clock.Lara's secret cellar
