Turn referee into a dog (Japanese version)
Press [Up]x2, [Down]x2, [Left], [Right], [Left], [Right], [A], [B] before the Japanese introduction is spoken. The sound of a dog barking will confirm correct code entry.

Extra skill points
Enter edit players mode before each match and use all available skill points. Highlight the "Cancel" option and press [Y] for 200 additional skill points.

Olympic goals
To score in a corner kick, play under the 1 to 3 difficulty settings, or it will be hard to do. The corner kick must be in the corners near the referees. Shoot with [X], making the ball enter in the middle of the goal.

Easy goals
The easiest way to score is by heading. Choose teams such as Norway, which has most of their players with jump power 7 to 9 and fast side-back and side-half to make the cross.

Moves

Through Pass: Hold [R], then press [B].
One-two pass: Hold [Y], then press [B].
Dribbling Skill: Press [Y] many times.
Chip Shot: Hold [Back], then press [X].
Ball Curve: Hold [Left] or [Right] after crossing or shooting

Pelé trick
To do the Pelé's trick, hold turbo ([Y]) and the D-Pad. While running, release the turbo and press [A] or [B] to do the Pelé's trick.

Glitch: Mad goalkeeper
Play a player one and player two versus CPU match and with Semi-Auto Keeper. During game play, hold [L] + [R] on controllers one and two. The goalkeeper may run faster than the other players.
